New Webinars: Good Practices on UPR Reporting
The deadline for stakeholder submissions for the 44th Working Group session is due on the 5th of April 2023.
UPR Info, organizes two free webinars (one in English and the other in French) to provide civil society representatives with key information and guidance to submit "Other Stakeholders Reports" to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of UN Member States. These online sessions aim at sharing technical information and online tools in the drafting process of UPR reports.
As a peer-to-peer exchange opportunity, the webinar will provide space to exchange good practices in the drafting and dissemination of UPR reports thanks to the participation of Avocats sans Frontières mission- Tunisia, in the French webinar, and A Rocha Ghana, in the English webinar.
This webinar is open to all the interested stakeholders and, in particular to human rights defenders, civil society organizations and members of national human rights institutions from the countries that will need to submit a report during the 44th UPR Working Group (Turkmenistan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Tuvalu, Germany, Djibouti, Canada, Bangladesh, Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Cuba).
The webinar will integrate the new guidelines published by the OHCHR, which recall the importance of focusing on, inter alia, the implementation of accepted recommendations and the developments of the human rights situation in the State under review. Civil society is encouraged to include information on the follow-up of the previous review in their written contributions.
